Nigeria – Africa Cargo Tracking Note (Nigeria – CTN)

Nigeria – Advance Cargo Declaration (Nigeria - CTN)
The Nigeria CTN, also known as the Nigeria Advance Cargo Declaration System (Nigeria ACD), is a pre-shipment cargo declaration system. All goods imported into Nigeria are monitored from the port of origin throughout the entire journey, thereby enhancing port security, effectively controlling arms smuggling, monitoring declared cargo values, and increasing import tax revenue.
Following the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States, many countries and regions—including the European Union, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, and Africa—have implemented mandatory cargo tracking policies for national and port security. However, the implementation standards and terminology vary by country. Currently, the African countries enforcing cargo tracking policies include:
Angola CNCA, Benin ECTN, Burkina Faso ECTN, Cameroon ECTN, Central African Republic ECTN, Congo (Brazzaville) ECTN, Democratic Republic of the Congo FERI, Côte d'Ivoire BSC, Gabon BIC, Guinea ICTN, Guinea-Bissau ECTN, Guinea ECTN, Guinea-Bissau CEE, Madagascar BSC, Mali ECTN, Niger ECTN, Nigeria CTN, Senegal ECTN, Togo ECTN, Burundi ECTN, Chad ECTN, Sierra Leone ACD, Ghana CTN.
